Jamie was instrumental in our custom software development for legal tech/finance. Her UX/UI and design expertise allowed us to efficiently and effectively put our vision into a highly usable and effective platform. I would highly recommend Jamie for your design and UX/UI needs, and we will for sure work with her again.

Goal
Create a web application that helps mortgage companies identify loan delinquencies due to death and provides tools for preventing foreclosure, creating a more seamless transition for mourning families.
Challenge
Scrivnr’s mission is to increase access to legal services by aligning the often disparate incentives in probate. They needed an application that could bridge a delicate gap: pairing public information (deaths) with private information (mortgages) while meeting the highest safety and privacy standards.
The challenge wasn’t just technical, it was human. How do you design a tool that handles Social Security numbers and personal financial data while serving people in one of life’s most difficult moments? The application needed to be secure enough for mortgage companies and compassionate enough for grieving families.
I broke the project into three distinct phases over the course of nearly a year:
Phase 1: Discovery
I started by asking the fundamental questions: What is this company trying to accomplish? Who are the main users? What are their needs? What’s the real problem we’re solving? This phase culminated in a discovery document that became our north star throughout the project.
Phase 2: Structure
I started by asking the fundamental questions: What is this company trying to accomplish? Who are the main users? What are their needs? What’s the real problem we’re solving? This phase culminated in a discovery document that became our north star throughout the project.
Phase 3: Design & Testing I created a high-fidelity interactive prototype with all pieces functioning end-to-end. This became our testing ground to identify friction points and optimize user flows before a single line of code was written.
Throughout all three phases, I led stakeholder meetings alongside the creative director and account manager.
Solution
The final deliverables included a comprehensive discovery document, interactive lo-fi and hi-fi prototypes, and detailed development documentation for every component in the application.
I provided ongoing direction to the development team, ensuring the final product maintained the careful balance between security and usability that the project demanded. The interface needed to feel professional and trustworthy for mortgage companies while remaining intuitive during what might be their first encounter with the system during a crisis.
Results
Scrivnr successfully launched and is now expanding exponentially. The application is helping mortgage companies prevent foreclosures while providing mourning families with the support and time they need during an incredibly difficult transition.
This project represents one of the largest and most meaningful bodies of work in my portfolio—a year-long commitment to designing technology that serves people at a critical intersection of legal, financial, and personal life.
